This is stated by Bjarni Þorsteinsson, deputy fire chief of the Borgarbyggð fire department, but the fire brigade was called out because of a firefighter, which appeared to be distributing, in Selgili at Húsafellsfjall east of Húsafell towards Kaldadalur, at the second time today.

He says it is difficult to realize how big the fire was burning, but says he has been in a rather limited area.
Weather conditions were favorable to firefighting, but the rain could be after an order, as Bjarni puts it, and struck.
More than 30 firefighters were calling for pump cars and bubbly cars with water equipment and high-pressure pumps. Then they used clothing and the rain helped.
According to Bjarni, work is completed on the ground.
