Fire in the Hamburg hospital. Three people are dead
The drama took place from Saturday to Sunday in Marienkrankenhaus in the Hohenfelde district in Hamburg. According to the services, three adults were killed, more than 30 were injured, including one fight for life. A dozen or so victims have serious injuries.

Firefighters said that fire broke out in one of the rooms on the ground floor. When the first fire -fighting vehicles arrived, the room was already in flames. The heat threatened to move to higher floors.
– Patients and shouted at the windows stood, calling for help – reported a spokesman for the Hamburg fire brigade, quoted by Mopo.de.
The action was rapid. 160 rescuers started, People were evacuated through windows, ladders, corridors, special protective hoods were used.
The fire was managed after about 20 minutes, But the effects were tragic. Thick smoke spilled all over the building. Some patients were evacuated. Some were provided on the spot, others were transported to neighboring hospitals.
Hospital with 600 beds
The Marienkrankenhaus hospital is one of the largest such facilities in northern Germany. It has about 600 beds, almost 93,000 patients are treated here a year.
The fire broke out in the geriatric ward, a place that was to be a refuge for safety and peace. It was there that elderly patients lay, often immobilized, and personnel to help. Just a few hours earlier, the facility was teeming with a quiet rhythm of the hospital routine, now it resembles a fire. Burned beds, melting window frames, traces of smoke on the walls.
How did the tragedy happen? For now, the reasons remain a mystery. The police will be looking for answers.
