Fire in Hamburg Clinic: Three Dead and Dozens of Wall

Three patients were killed in a nightly fire in the Marienkrankenhaus in the Hamburg district of Hohenfelde and more than 50 people were injured. All deaths are adults, said a fire brigade spokesman for the German Press Agency. In addition, there would be two life-threatening people and 16 seriously injured.

Parts of the hospital had to be evacuated because of the fire in one of the clinic buildings. The injured patients were partly cared for in the clinic’s emergency room or brought to surrounding hospitals. The rescue measures have now been completed, the fire was deleted, the spokesman said in the early morning.

Fire broke out in geriatrics

The fire had broken out on the ground floor of the clinic in a room at the geriatric station, which specializes in the care of older patients on the ground floor of the clinic. Then the flames overturned the first floor. According to a dpa reporter on site, a room from the clinic apparently burned out completely.
