At the Ypres Boezinge, a house of a farm was destroyed by a blazing fire on Monday night.
A passer -by noticed on Tuesday morning just before 4.30 a.m. flames along the Vanheulestraat in the countryside near the Ypres borough Boezinge. It turned out to be a blazing fire in the living area of a farm. « The living area and the attached kitchen area have burned out, » explains Kristof Louagie, spokesperson for the Westhoek fire brigade.
« A tank truck circuit has been started to have enough water for the fire extinguishers, » Louagie continues. « The fire is now under control. The residential and kitchen area has completely burned out. The Nablus works will take some time since it concerns an older home with a lot of insulation and intermediate pieces. »

The fire brigade was already asked on the spot around 8 pm on the basis of smoke development around 8 p.m. « It was then an inner fire where we stayed on the spot for a check -up until 1 hour in the morning. A piece of ceiling was also broken out to make sure the fire was completely extinguished. »
As a precaution, DOVO Dovo came to the scene to pick up ammunition festivities of the First World War. These lay on an adjacent building. « We call for farmers again to ask our intervention faster and not to save ammunition on the site of a farm, » says Steven De Meulenaere, adjutant at DOVO.
