Fire brigade must free victim after collision between two cars: four people to hospital (Tielt)

In Tielt, at the intersection with Seyntexlaan and Mariënhovestraat, two cars were involved in an accident on Monday evening. Four people were transferred to the hospital.
Around 10 pm two cars became involved in an accident at the intersection with Seytexlaan and Mariënhovestraat in Tielt. How the accident could happen is not yet clear, but the impact was huge.
Both cars, a van from the Peugeot brand and a passenger car from Honda, were almost completely destroyed. Three people, the drivers of both cars and a passenger in the backseat of the passenger car, were brought to the Sint-Andries Hospital with minor injuries.
A fourth person, a lady who was sitting in the Honda passenger seat and therefore had to endure the biggest impact, had to be freed by the fire brigade because the car door could no longer be opened due to the impact. She too was taken to the hospital in a stable condition. The intersection was not accessible to traffic for a while due to the rescue operation and the clean -up work afterwards. (CSD)
