Fire breaks out fast and hard to respond to
The fire record of the caravan that burned in Gardabaer during the thirteenth time today is unknown. The trailer burned to cold coal and the fire broke out in a nearby garage that was destroyed in the fire.
This is stated by Loftur Þór Einarsson, deputy chief of the fire department in the capital area, in a conversation with mbl.is.
Loftur says the fire has been well extinguished after the fire brigade was in the garden.
According to Lofts, a fire like this that occurs in the caravans is extremely fast and therefore it can be difficult to respond to even if there are generally fire extinguishers in travel.
« There are gas cylinders and something like that. Gaskuts generally do not cause fires, it does not ignite in a gas cushion from nothing but it can spread fire in it, » says Loftur when asked what to avoid preventing a fire.
