Finnmark must get pulse – altaposten.no

I start with my own body. It works properly. Every day I feel how the heart beats, the blood flows and all the parts work together to live. A complex organism that would not have had the basis for life unless the heart pumped around the blood in my body. Even my little finger needs the blood to work.

The small blood vessels in the finger are completely dependent on supplying from the big years. Heart and the big years in my body keep me in life.

This is also the case with one society. The infrastructure is the veins of society. It is the roads, power supplies and a solid digital network that ensure that we get food, workplaces, energy and everything else we need.

One people who thrive and feel good can be compared to the body’s immune system. If the infrastructure is weakened, one people in a small place will not be able to keep society up. A fresh little finger cannot carry the whole body.

Think of Finnmark as a living organism

We are part of a world that depends on electricity and other infrastructure, on means of transport and communication tools, we live by helping each other and creating value together in a variety of industries and industries. The « organism » Finnmark shares supplies with Troms and Nordland, we share goods, services and power. If we produce more power than we need ourselves, but lack infrastructure to transport it where needed, imbalance is created.

Those who are not associated with the large blood vessels that we call the power infrastructure do not have the opportunity to develop in the same way as other parts of this society. It becomes like a body where one side fades away because it does not get blood.

Our population and our industries are entirely dependent on good infrastructure. Reindeer husbandry, fishing, agriculture, industry, tourism and service companies.

It is also about security and defense

This is not just about growth and development, but also about security and defense. If our society is threatened by war or natural disasters, then we take for granted that a well -equipped defense comes to the rescue. Just as when we get one cut in the skin, the body sends its defense out to repair the damage.

The 420 kv line, which today goes all the way to Skaidi is a large vein in the power infrastructure. A concrete investment that will provide the entire Finnmark with the same conditions for growth and one strong defense.

A strong and well -functioning society is the best defense we can have. In order for Finnmark to be viable, we must invest in infrastructure. Just as the body depends on its blood vessels, Finnmark is dependent on power grids and transport to grow and defend. Should we really cut the blood vessel at Skaidi and risk the fact that East Finnmark fade away?

The answer is simple: We need a whole Finnmark, not a split. And we have bad time.
