Finnish The over consumption day is today, says Wwf. Finns consume their computational share of the natural resources of the globe more rapidly than most of the rest of the world.
« With the amount of two euros in Sweden, only one is produced in Finland, » WWF Finnish adviser Jussi Nikula says in the bulletin.
On the day of over -consumption, natural resources exceed the Earth’s ability to produce renewable natural resources and deal with greenhouse gas emissions from the use of fossil fuels.
According to the environmental organization, Finnish over -consumption is due, among other things, to excessive forest felling, high consumption of animal food and the use of fossil fuels.
Over -consumption of natural resources is the root cause of both a nature loss and a climate crisis, WWF recalls. According to the organization, the central barrier to stopping over consumption is financial incentives that maintain environmentally harmful activities.
“Over -consumption of natural resources and causing nature hazards are simply too cheap, often even completely free,” says Nikula.
Over -consumption days are reduced annually by the Global Footprint Network Research Institute.
Environmental movement Today, Elokapina is organizing an over -consumption demonstration at the Toyota Rally Stall in Jyväskylä. The demonstration begins in the morning after 11am.
« Motorism swallows land and materials, heats the atmosphere and overwhelm people. It’s time to stop bowing sacred fossils, » Elokapina says in the release of Jyväskylä.
