Film is still best at the cinema

Alta Filmklubb has been working with Aurora Kino Alta for almost 40 years (formerly Alta Kino). Together, we have brought good films to Alta’s film -interested audience in a professional format. We have been able to have this collaboration because the cinema has found room for us in addition to its ordinary operations.

The current financial situation threatens not only the cinema, but also the film club. We also have to ask if we, as Finnmark’s largest city, should not have our own cinema?

Good movie in cinema provides access to entertainment, knowledge, insight and great cultural experiences to a greater extent than most other things. There is a low threshold to go to the cinema. You can eat popcorn and enjoy yourself, only you sit relatively quiet and do not interfere with others.

There is a large number of films that are often not shown on the streaming channels and a lot of genres that can interest most. The cinema is good at facilitating various functional variations and other minorities and everyone is welcome.

We hope Alta’s politicians understand to take care of the cinema and the diversity offered, and we hope Alta’s audience appreciates the wonderful offer we have.
