Fifties with explosives in the house arrested in Charleroi

After a raid, the police arrested a fifties in Roux, at Charleroi. In the man’s home who had a fight with a neighbor, chemicals and explosives were found, the Charleroi public prosecutor reports Tuesday. He is interrogated later in the day.

There was a fight between the two neighbors on Monday afternoon. A weapon would have been shown during a fight. Later an alarm gun was found in the fifties. The Charleroi public prosecutor confirmed that one of the two was taken into custody.
The police carried out a house search with the suspect after the alarm gun was found. « The suspect stated that the house contained several explosives, so that DOVO mine mining service was deployed and a safety zone was established, » said Charleroi’s public prosecutor’s office in a press release.
Various chemicals and explosives were found on location and made harmless. The operations were temporarily interrupted at the end of the day. The services continued on Tuesday morning, with the support of the police and civil protection.
The court indicated that the suspect will be heard later in the day, « as soon as the security measures have been fully completed. »
