Fifth Student Request: Will the power launch a detailed investigation into the incident at the protest 15. Marta? – Society

Students in blockade in Belgrade specifically require « implementation of detailed investigative bodies in terms of occurrence, which provoked fear and panic in 19.11 along the street of King Milan, during a peaceful protest and 15 minutes in silence in memory of tragically killed in Novi Sad ».

Since the institutions and representatives of government took three months to fully meet only one request of students, the Fourth of Changes to the Law on Higher Education, we asked our interlocutors whether they expect to be fulfilled for the fifth request to students the fifth request.

Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Political Sciences Ivan Stanojevic does not think that he will be fulfilled the fifth request.

« I expect more regime violence and terror, » Stanojevic said briefly.

Given that the government did not fulfill the original 4 requests of students, the Faculty of Political Science Sara Stanojevic does not expect to fulfill this fifth.

« I think that this request, which is related to an event that happened 15. Marta, the least ‘pleasure because he directly concerns the security authorities, that is, the police and their work and the use of illicit weapons, » Stojanovic points out.

It reminds that after 15. Martha saw that the president declares that we do not have a sound cannon, while the Minister of the Interior declares that we have, but that it was not used.

« We see that there is a friend in their ranks and fear that they came to them. We will stay in the blockade and we will fight for the original four, but also this fifth request, » Stojanovic points out.

The president of the Movement of Free Citizens Pavle Grbović is also not optimistic when it comes to fulfilling a new request.

« The power of the SNS in any form organized does not want it and cannot do it, » Grubovic emphasizes.

He believes that the time of repairing regime has long passed, the only medicine that can have an effect is now the shift of corrupt authorities.

« It can only make a unique front of rebellious citizens, students and opposition, » Grubovic states.

Professor of the University of Belgrade Jovo Bakić is the same opinion as previous interlocutors.

« He will not fulfill the fifth request, nor first, because it would mean to arrest himself, » Bakic explains.

The students also published the concretization of the fifth request, it includes:

1. Identification of applied technology and location from which unidentified phenomenon is caused;
2. Determination of the legal basis and purpose of application of unidentified technology, as well as determining the merits and justification of its application 15. March 2025. years;
3. Identification of the principal and executors who took an action that led to an unidentified phenomenon, and initiating the appropriate procedure in accordance with the law, without delay;
4. The way in which the Ministry of Interior and other competent authorities will prevent an unfounded and unjustified application of unidentified technology as a means of coercion during peaceful gatherings of citizens, « said Belgrade students in blockade.

This request, underlines, stems from the need to protect citizens’ rights to a peaceful assembly, which is clearly defined by the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia and the Law on Public Assembly. « The right to freedom of gathering and expression of opinion represent one of the basic pillars of a democratic society. This is evident that this is an act of intimidating citizens and violating basic human rights, » he added.

Students in the blockade further state that according to the Law on Public Prosecutor’s Office, expertly, conscientiously, impartially, effectively, and without unnecessary delay, perform this function, as well as to respect independence in the work of the public prosecutor’s office.
