Šurany. The state industrial park in Šurany was announced today (Wednesday, March 5) by the government for a strategic investment. So far, the project has had a significant investment status (since June 2022).
The change was proposed by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy Denisa Sakova. It thus responded to a request for a strategic investment certificate. This was filed on 18 February by the State Eseročka MH Invest belonging to the portfolio of the Ministry of Economy.
Already at the end of last year, it applied for a change in the certificate of a significant investment for the investment project.
The Ministry of Economy wants to ensure the competitiveness of Slovakia in the acquisition of foreign investments to the Šurian industrial park.

Strategic investment
The government may determine the investment project for a strategic investment if:
- Its realization is in the public interest,
- will be realized in the territory of the investment of the necessary scope,
- Its location is in accordance with the zoning plan and strategic documents of the state, municipalities or higher territorial units in the territorial district of which the investment project is to be implemented,
- follows the environmental protection measures if special regulations require for an investment project and
- It meets at least one of the special strategic requirements according to the following paragraph (special strategic requirements).
The project must meet special strategic requirements:
- The planned investment expenses for the implementation of the investment project are at least € 50 million,
- is to contribute to the rehabilitation of environmental burdens or to remedy environmental damage,
- These are the construction of defense infrastructure and tools to ensure the defense of the state or construction for the safety of state or construction of health facilities or buildings intended for the development of industrial production, services, research and development, the total area of which is at least 30 hectares or
- Its implementation is directly and directly related to a significant investment if the investment expenditure for a significant investment is more than EUR 50 million.

The main goal of investing « Šurany Industrial Park » is to prepare a territory intended for the implementation of investments in the field of industrial production, services, research and development with higher added value.
