fewer ministries, more for young people and against corruption
The Democrats who leads it dr. Anze Logarthe establishment of the Expert Council, which will consist of 15 working groups. At the same time, these will be their « basis for the composition of the next government », as they wrote in a press release. The focus is on a comprehensive renovation of the government structure, which envisages, among other things, four ministries less, a greater content connection and more efficient management of the country.
As the party president Anže Logar points out, Democrats put the competitive economy, security, a young friendly society and a determined fight against corruption. One of the most notable proposals is to unite the economy and work into one ministry, which will have a vice -presidential weight in the government. According to Logar, this link will allow tax relief, greater flexibility of labor market and increase companies competitiveness.
They intend to pay special attention to young people who often go abroad after graduation. Democrats strive to make Slovenia become the country of opportunitiestherefore, they propose the formation of the Secretary of State for Demography and young people in the Prime Minister’s cabinet, who will take care of coordinating policies in this area.
Due to the current security conditions and illegal migration, Democrats are planning to strengthen the Ministry of the Interior and the Police, which would have more jurisdictions to protect the state border and security of citizens. Within the Prime Minister’s cabinet, security will be considered more broadly – from cyber -dietary risks, which will be responsible for a special secretary of state.
The party also proposes rationalization and union of several departments such as the environment, space, green transition and cohesion, which is expected to prevent lengthy procedures and draw more efficiently European funds. Digitization is one of the priorities, so they propose the United Ministry of Digitization and Public Administration, which is supposed to allow better public sector productivity and the transparency of the legislation.
Corruption “Cancer Wound of the Current Government”
Corruption, according to Logar, is a « cancer of the current government », which is supposed to be the most mirrored at the disproportionate prices of projects – from the change of green in Stožice to the renovation of the Jesenice railway station. In response, Democrats are planning to establish a specialized prosecutor’s office modeled on the Croatian Uskok and the financial police according to the Italian model, which will watch the Secretary of State to fight corruption.
They also devote a special place to a sport that they want to introduce into all subsystems of society as a connecting value. This will be taken care of by the Secretary of State for Sport.
The party also presented a new structure of ministries, including: the Ministry of Family and Social Justice, the Ministry of the Economy and Labor, the Ministry of the Environment, Spatial Planning, Cohesion and Regional Development, and other classical ministries, such as health, education, justice, finance, defense, foreign affairs and the Government Office for Slovenes abroad.
With ambitious reorganization and programmatic highlights, Democrats clearly indicate that they are aiming for the leadership of the next government while relying on professionalism, efficiency and development orientation. Their program represents a concrete answer to many of the challenges facing Slovenian society.
