Rudina at Dolneni today and tomorrow will be the bagpipes, drums, zurls, cavalry, kemans and 51. The festival of folk instruments and songs « Pece Atanasovski », which nurtures and preserves the original melody in Macedonia. Festival activities started these days with a seminar where 20 young people were learning to play folk instruments.

– The festival returns to the roots, as it started. It is associated with the feast of Spasovden and we want to maintain the tradition that Dolneni is a cradle of bagpipe. Once there were only about 150 bagpipes. Of course, the festival is also associated with Prilep where the seminar for the study of folk instruments and songs is held, and of course the whole atmosphere is transmitted in Prilep through the music of the part of the city center – says Goran Vasileski, president of the EB.

Yesterday at the Fine Hall of FC « Marko Cepenkov » the traditional symposium « Folklore in the Past and Today » was held in which the Proceedings of Eminent Experts of Folklore was promoted.

Since the bagpipe and its way of making December 2024 are on the UNESCO list as a protected intangible cultural heritage, for which the festival has its share of protection, this year the day of the bagpipe is introduced as an event within this national event.

On Sunday at the Final Festival, the festival jury will award the awards to the best performers, and the best bagpipe will receive the « Pece » prize awarded by the municipality of Dolneni.
