Fenerbahce, represented by Jagar, wins the Euroleague Championship title / Day
In the final, Fenerbahce beat the French club « Monaco » with 81:70 (18:20, 17:13, 19:18, 27:19), triumphing in Euroleague for the first time since 2017.
Jagar, who remained outside Fenerbahce in this match, has become the first Latvian, the Euroleague champion.
Istanbul’s victory with 23 points and nine rebounds was defeated by Nadel Heiss-Davis, who also provoked seven opponents’ notes. Marko Gudurich scored 19 more points, while Boldwin and Devon Hall scored 13 points.
In Monaco’s ranks, Alfa Dialo was the highest scorer with 19 points, while Mike James finished with 17 points.
Monaco was mostly in the first two quarters, but shortly before the break, Fenerbahce took the lead, which gained a greater lead in the first half of the fourth quarter with a +11.
In the remaining minutes, Monaco’s team slightly reduced the deficit in the remainder of Boldwin, but Fenerbahce, which made only nine mistakes in the entire game, protected success and the Euroleague title.
In the battle for third place, Piraeus Olympiacos defeated Athens « Panathinaikos » with 97:93 (33:20, 24:26, 18:18, 22:29).
The Piraeus team won with 32 points and seven rebounds by Alex Peters, Sasha Vezenkov scored 23 points, and Moses Raith added 19 more points.
Panathinaikos was not saved by Omer Jertsven, who stood out with 23 points and eight balls under the baskets.
On Friday, in the semi -finals, Fenerbahce defeated Panathinaikos with 82:76 with 82:76. In the fight for the second road to the final, Monaco beat Olympiacos with 78:68.
Jagar has played in 22 games this season in Euroleague, 13 of them starting in the top five. The Latvian averaged 5.9 points in 15 minutes and gave up 2.3 assists.
In Euroleague, 18 teams played a two-lap tournament, with the top six entering the elimination tournament, while seventh to tenth place winners fought in the play-in round.
Last season, the winners of the most prestigious club tournament for Europe were Athens « Panathinaikos » basketball players, who won Madrid’s « Real » with 95:80 in Berlin.
