Federal states leave part of the residential treeillions – diepresse.com
So far, only 128 million euros have flowed to the federal states. Upper Austria completely dispenses with the promotion of the new building.
One billion euros for housing: With this promise, the previous turquoise-green government started the election campaign more than a year ago. The then Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer and his Vice Werner Kogler presented the promise of 20,000 new and 5,000 renovated apartments publicity on a construction site On the outskirts of Vienna.
A year later there is massive criticism from the construction industry: The Wohnbaumilliarde was the right initiative, but was poor, for example said Porr-The boss Karl-Heinz Strauss. The plan to initiate residential construction did not work.
The Greens now doubt that the residential treeillions are completely and expediently picked up by the federal states, and MP Nina Tomaselli made a parliamentary request to the finance minister for previous applications and withdrawals. Markus Marterbauer’s answer shows that the Wohnbaumilliarde has at least not brought a short -term thrust for the construction industry and the new housing.
Four countries got money
At the end of May, a total of 128 million euros were distributed to four federal states. Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Tyrol and Vorarlberg have so far picked up funds, the greatest part of it, namely EUR 95 million, Lower Austria.
How much is actually being distributed by the announced residential treeillary can not yet be estimated today. Formally, this runs so that the countries submit a basic application. The billion is divided into three years, in the previous year 250 million euros were available, 500 million and next year again 250 million. However, there are only actual subsidies if the countries also have expenditure on housing subsidies – namely those that go beyond the average expenditure of 2022 and 2023.
The basic proposals were largely made – but not for the entire residential treeillary. In this way, Upper Austria does without the promotion of the new building and thus a grant of EUR 130 million. So far, Vienna has not applied for funds for condominiums.
70 percent exhausted
If one assumes which commitments for residential buildings have granted the federal states so far, the funds for 2024 are only exhausted. They are almost completely used in Lower Austria and Carinthia, while the quota in Vorarlberg and Styria is below 70 percent. In Upper Austria, which only uses renovation funding, it is twelve percent. However, the numbers can still change because the countries can move half of the funding they are entitled to the following year. However, there are no high funding rates: So far, the federal states have only given funding allowances of EUR 76 million or 15 percent of the funds due.
The Greens have negotiated the residential construction package in the previous year, accordingly MP Tomaselli does not criticize the measure itself, but the implementation by the federal states. « The residential disease of the federal states is not understandable, » says Tomaselli at the request of the « press ». The great opportunity of the residential construction package decided last year would be misunderstood and thus « the citizens fall by the wayside ».
Only additional apartments
The Greens are startled by the fact that the figures reported by the finance minister do not match the publications of the housing development department of the federal states. This must check whether the funding conditions adopted by the National Council – the main concern is that only additional new housing is promoted – are also met by the federal states.
« The residential disinterest of the federal states is not understandable. »
