Federal Council speaks for blatts
CHF 5 million: Federal Council speaks for blatts – the municipality already knows what it wants to ensure with it
Next week the Federal Council will come to parliament with an urgent law: the government wants to support the Lötschental financially quickly.
CHF 15,000 per inhabitant: So much is the immediate aid that the Federal Council wants to speak in favor of the community of Blatten devastated by a rock. A few days ago it became a few days ago that several federal offices work under high pressure on such a “sign of solidarity”. On Friday, Federal President Karin Keller-Sutter and Environment Minister Albert Rösti took the media to announce the success report.
« The Confederation is a community of fate across all levels of state, which is why the federal government is also required, » explained Keller-Sutter the decision. And Rösti confirmed: « The pictures made of blatings don’t let go. » According to reports, the money does not come from the General Bundeskasse, but from the budget of the Rösti department.
«The municipality should decide for itself how it wants to dispose of these funds. A report will then be held accountable to the federal government, »said the Environment Minister on Friday. However, there is no legal basis for the emergency millions from Bern.
The parliament will therefore deal with an urgent law next week. However, the government hardly has any concern about a political hack: “The Federal Council has promised the leavesers not to leave them alone. We are confident that the parliament will also agree with this sign, »says Keller-Sutter.
The extent of the destruction: several hundred million francs
Federal Councilor Rösti left no doubt that the reconstruction of Blatten becomes a tedious and lengthy affair: «The path is stony, in the truest sense of the word. There are complex questions. » Against this background, the amount of the auxiliary amount should also be understood: in the medium term, significantly more funds would be needed; The damage should amount to several hundred million francs.
With the immediate aid, the Federal Council ties in to the ten million francs that the canton of Valais has announced to the discriminated Lötschental as a short -term measure. Several cantons and communities in Switzerland joined. In addition, the lucky chain collected around CHF 13 million donations.
Fernando Lehner from the regional management staff knows that the residents were paid to the residents each: « The money comes from the Caritas relief organization. »
The community is expected to use the federal government’s instant aid to ensure the supply in the directly adjoining hamlet. « It is about basic needs such as water, waste water, electricity and disposal in Weissenried and Eisten, » says Lehner on request that this is currently a priority. Direct payments to people in the sense of help for hardship cases are currently not planned.
Army withdraws
In the affected community, the situation continues to be unstable more than a week after the rock fall. The risk situation continues to allow cleaning up in the BLATTEN clash area. As the army head of operations, divisional Raynald Droz, said to Radio SRF on Friday morning, the army is withdrawing for the time being.
According to the specialists of the canton of Valais, the danger level is to « 9 out of 10 », but people are only likely to go to the area at « 2 of 10 ». That is a huge difference. The soldiers are therefore now moving back into a « high willingness »: as soon as it allows the situation, « we are on site within hours, » said Droz. The heavy remedies remained in the area, and these were also rapidly ready for use.
