This season, FC Narva United demonstrates incredible results by setting a new standard for the club. The team performing in the High League of the Estonian footzala for the first time in 13 years took first place in the regular part of the championship and entered the semifinals without suffering a single defeat. Alexander Dmitriev, the club manager, in an exclusive interview shared the details about the season, team composition, key moments and plans for the future.

Historical season: first place and without defeat

“This is our 13th season in the Major League, and it has become the best in the history of the club,” says Alexander Dmitriev proudly. – We took first place in the regular part of the championship, which before we had never succeeded. In 14 games we won 11 victories and tied 3 times. This is not only the result of hard work, but also the proof that work was done in the right direction before the start of the season and within the entire tournament. ”

The match with the main competitor – the Bunker Partner team was especially important. “In the penultimate round, we tied with them, and this provided us with first place for the tour to the end,” Dmitriev recalls. – There were more than 600 fans in the stands, and the atmosphere was incredible. In the last round, on the road, we also tied, 5: 5, and completed the regular championship without defeats. This is a historical achievement for our club. ”

Championship structure: Way to success

The Estonian Futzal Championship consists of two parts: regular and playoffs. 8 teams participate in the Premier League, of which 6 go to the playoffs. The first two teams immediately fall into the semifinals, and the rest fight over the exit in the quarter -finals. “We secured ourselves a place in the semifinals, taking first place,” Dmitriev notes. – This gives us a significant advantage: if you need the third game, it will be held on our site. The first semifinal match will be held on March 22 in Narva, and we are already actively preparing for this important event. ”

Alexander also emphasizes the importance of home matches: “We are starting the semifinals at home, and this is a great advantage. The second game will take place on the road, and if you need the third, it will be in Narva again. We hope to support our fans, who always create a unique atmosphere in the stands. ”

Three main groups of players

“In our club, and in many ways, in general, in the Estonian championship, three main groups of players can be distinguished,” says Dmitriev. -The first is youth, who for some reason does not see themselves in professional football. The second are veterans who have completed a career in big football. And the third is the so-called « legionnaires » or players from behind Estonia.

“The first group in our club is young guys who, at the age of 16-19, understand that they will not have a professional career in big football,” Dmitriev explains. – They begin to look for themselves in other directions, and the footsal becomes an excellent alternative for them. There is still less competition, the loads are more controlled, and you can combine sports with study or work.

According to Dmitriev, many young players come to footzal from football clubs or youth teams.
The second group is players who have completed a career in big football. “These are veterans who have already played their own in the premium league or other professional leagues,” says Dmitriev. “They come to a footzal to stay in shape, continue to play and continue to be part of the sports community.”

“Our fans are our additional power.

A striking example of such a transition was Karl Meöl, a famous football player who played more than 300 matches in the Estonian Premium League. “This season, he began to play for the Saka Sporting team in a footman,” Dmitriev notes.

The third group is visiting players « Legionnaires ». “In our club this season, 6 guys from Ukraine at once. These guys were already in Estonia and gladly joined our team before the start of the current season. They undoubtedly bring a high level of skill to the game, as many of them previously performed in professional teams in Ukraine. ”
Dmitriev also notes that in Estonia there are teams that actively attract legionnaires and invite for this abroad. “For example, in the Sillamya“ Sille ”and Tallinn“ Bunker Parnter ”this season, legionnaires from Venezuela and Costa Rica are involved. In our work, we are betting on those players who are already in Estonia and are adapted to life here, and it works. ”

Differences of football and big football

Futzal is a variation of football in the room.
Futzal is a dynamic and spectacular game that requires players of quick solutions and high physical training. “The density of the players on the site in a footman is much higher than in football,” says Dmitriev. – If you count on a football field, then this is about 24 by 24 players. In a football, each player participates both in the attack and in defense, which makes the game more intense. There is no time for pauses – you are constantly in motion, you are constantly making decisions. ”

Another key difference is the number of goals. “On average, 8-10 goals are clogged for the game in the Estonian championship,” Dmitriev notes. -D drawn 0: 0 is very rare and happen only once every 2-3 seasons. For viewers, this is spectacular: there are always goals and many points. In a football, the score can change at any time, and this makes the game even more exciting. ”

Youth and women's team: The future of the club

In addition to the main team, FC Narva United actively develops the youth direction.
“We have a youth team U18, which performs in the elite league of the Estonian championship,” says Dmitriev. “Just the other day they took first place in the regular championship.”

The club also has a women's team that performs in the Folk League. “Girls also show excellent results and are now in the first place,” adds Dmitriev. “We are trying to develop all directions so that the club is strong not only in the Premier League, but also at other levels.”

Future plans: semifinals and ambitions

March 22, FC Narva United will play the first semifinal match in Narva. “We are waiting for fans and prepare for an important match,” says Dmitriev. – It will be a serious test, but we believe in our strength. Our goal is to go to the final and fight for the championship. We know that this will not be easy, but the team is ready for any challenges. ”

Alexander also emphasizes the importance of supporting fans: “Our fans are our additional power. When the stands are filled, players feel this energy and laid out 100%. We invite everyone to the match on March 22 – it will be an unforgettable event. ”

FC Narva United continues to strengthen its position in the Estonian footzale. Now the team is at the peak of the form and is ready to fight for access to the final. “We believe in our strength and hope for the support of the fans,” concludes Dmitriev. – We have important matches ahead, and we will do everything to succeed. This season has already become historical for us, but we are not going to stop there. ”
