Farewell, Leka Bungo, the truth that was never alienated
Today, the worst word in the language of the soul comes out of my heart: Farewell!
Leka Bungo is no longer in this world. And with him, there is a whole era of Albanian art, a time when theater and film stemmed from idealism, true devotion, and spirit that required no applause, but expressions of truth.
Luca in this division with Leka Bungon has stated that he was not only a friend, he was one of those rare people who make sense of the word personality. Unwavering, inflexible, straight. Walked between the crashes and the restorations with the dignity of one who does not accept the compromise with himself. It was never alienated, nor when life made it difficult for him, nor when time began to nourish mediocrity. Leka never became a spectator of herself, but stayed on stage until the last breath, with the same vibrancy, with the same passion.
Today I lost a precious friend, adds Luca, but the country lost a colossus, a guide, a worthy representative of the Albanian artistic spirit. The theater lost a creative mind and a voice that never silenced for beauty and right. The Albanian film lost one of its most honest and deepest architects.
But let’s not cry Leke as a loss. It is already a silent presence, eternally embedded in our collective memory. He lives in the roles he inspired, in the performances he directed, in the words he said, in the silence that weighed more than any applause, has continued George Luca in the Farewell to Leka Bungon
Farewell, Leka!
You stayed true to the end.
And for that, those of us who were behind, we will always humble you with the deepest respect.
Thank you for being, and you will remain, one of the biggest.
