Fantasy, Sci-Fi and Horror: Luxcon inspires fans in the capital
The Luxcon, the popular festival for all fans of science fiction, fantasy and horror cultures, opened its goals in the forum in the forum in Luxembourg-City and offered an exciting first day full of creativity, fun and exciting program. Organized by the Science Fiction & Fantas Society (SFFS) Luxembourg, the Luxcon has set itself the goal of creating an environment in which like -minded people can come together and share their passion.
On the first day, the fair attracted hundreds of visitors who were able to dive into fantastic worlds. For example in the form of various lectures and readings of international guests or in workshops as well as role-playing rounds. For example, Star Wars fans were able to create their own pool-no lightsaber, while prospective podcaster won valuable tips in the workshop « The Backstage of Podcasting ». Sword fight enthusiasts also got their money’s worth at an interactive workshop. If you wanted, you could demonstrate your knowledge at the 12th annual Luxcon Geekquiz in the evening.
In addition to the program items, the exhibition offered a great opportunity to meet hobby artists, acquire merchandise and to support local as well as regional artists and artisans. A special highlight was the Cosplay Group Photo, in which numerous costumed visitors gathered on the stairs. Until the late evening, events such as the Geekaraoke created an exuberant atmosphere.
But that was just the beginning. The Luxcon 2025 goes into the second round on Sunday and promises further exciting hours for all fans. Again the doors of the forum of Geesseznäpe are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
War of the stars and a galaxy in the attic
The program includes « The Big Read/The Big Reader Lound » on Sunday, in which literary guests and regional authors present their works, as well as an insight into the game design at noon. In the workshop « Let’s WorldBuild Together », participants can create worlds together. The highlight will be the highly expected Cosplay Contest at 3:30 p.m. on the Main Stage, in which the impressive craftsmanship and performance of the participants can be admired. A charity auction then takes place. The solemn Cosplay Award Ceremony finally rounds off the day.
Tickets for the Luxcon are available on site: the day ticket costs five euros. Admission is free for everyone under the age of 12.
