Family stabbed Wajdi (32) responds defeated: « Everyone loved him, he defended young and old » (Antwerp)
« Wajdi defended young and old. Even when small children fought, he intervened, » says his family. Wajdi (32) was stabbed to death on Sunday in the Antwerp Seefhoek, when he wanted to help a woman who was harassed. His mother Jamila, father Abd Lahmid and brother Walid, who still live in Tunisia, learned the news two days later.
« His friend called us, » says Jamila. « He explained everything to my son, the brother of Wajdi,. Walid immediately walked to another room. I heard him scream. »
When she asked him what was going on with his brother, she also heard the tragic news. « Your son was killed, » said Walid. When I got Wajdi’s friend, he sounded very confused and I was hard to understand him. «

Friday, two days before Wajdi was stabbed to death, Jamila had called her son. « It was a short conversation. Normally we video chat for a long time, but this time we called. He asked how I and his father were doing. »

In the meantime, the family has held the well -known criminal lawyer Johan Platteau from abroad. They want to be a civil party. The family tries to repatriate the body of Wajdi to Tunisia to bury him there.
