Family massacre. He killed his wife and sons, then he took his life himself
The tragedy took place on Saturday. 42-year-old Jeremy Koch, as the police determined, first killed his wife Bailey and two sons: 18-year-old Hudson and 16-year-old Asher. Then he took his life. Everyone died with a knife blow. The crime tool was found on the spot.
It wasn’t a coincidence. It was a drama that has been growing for years
Jeremy Koch struggled with severe depression, which – as his loved ones say – turned into psychosis over time. Bailey fought for her husband to get help. She wrote on the web, looking for support. It engaged aid organizations, including Anchoring Hope for Mental Health (name means an initiation of hope for mental health – English). But that wasn’t enough. The system has failed.
The death of a 48-year-old during police intervention. The cause of « sudden suffocation »
Bailey’s family today says directly: Jeremy recently found psychiatric treatment. A few days before the tragedy, he was written out of it.
« It was not Jeremy who committed this terrible act. It was a sick mind … We find strength in our faith, » wrote Lane and Peggy Kugler, parents of Bailey, on Facebook.

There is no regret in their words. There is an appeal
The perpetrators called the American psychiatric care system « disaster ». They demand changes. They want the authorities to finally recognize that Mental health crisis is a real problemwho takes a tragic toll. They appeal for fast, available and real access to treatment – before it is too late.
If you need immediate help, you can report to crisis intervention centers (OIK), which are in every major city. You can get psychological, legal and material assistance there. Some OIKs are open around the clock and, for example, run a night stay. Help is free! You don’t have to have insurance.
If you have persistent and strong suicidal thoughts, you can also report to any psychiatric hospital. Health insurance is also not needed there. In sudden situations (if you say it’s urgent), your doctor must accept you the same day.
