Family from Radoszyce trapped in Israel. The drama of Poles during the treatment of cancer
It was supposed to be a last chance journey. Mr. Bartosz suffers from aggressive bladder tumor with bone and bone marrow metastasis. The Israeli clinic was the only place where he could start innovative therapy. Funds collected by the donors allowed to leave Poland with his wife Karolina and a son of several months. Treatment began. Hope came back, but the conflict with Iran changed everything.
Alarm sirens, shelters, bunkers
The family who stayed in Tel Aviv hit the middle of the war nightmare. Bartosz’s treatment was interrupted. Over the past days, all three – he, wife and their little son – protected themselves against fire in the bunker. – We are here to save one life and we fight for three – wrote Mrs. Karolina in a moving appeal, June 15. – It’s hell. When will Poles evacuate? Will we return to the country in black sacks?
In another post she added only one sentence, short as prayer: – « Pray for us! »
The family was registered in the Odysseus system and reported readiness to evacuate. They received information about a possible trip through Jordan. Despite the difficulties, they decided to move. They just want to survive.
Polish services have a plan
The help was announced by MP and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrzej Szejna (New Left) from the Konecki Poviat. In a conversation with « Echam of the day » he claims that he personally contacted Mrs. Karolina. The family has his number and can call even in the middle of the night. – We did everything to ensure their safety. They are currently in a calmer place, they are waiting for the possibility of evacuation – he assures.
Polish services have a plan: a land convoy to Amman, and from there a flight to the country. The problem is that every day of delay is another risk. It is also not known in what state of health Mr. Bartosz is.
« Fakt » tried to contact his family, but until the publication we did not receive an answer.
