Heavy storms followed by heavy rain, wind and city that hit Skopje this afternoon caused fallen trees, floods and traffic obstacles in several locations in the capital.

According to the Center for Crisis Service (CMC), 112 have received an application for fallen wood on ul. « Koco Bitolanov », on the opposite side of Alkaloid, near Skopje Brewery.

– There is a danger that the tree will damage the electrical cables. The competent services are notified and will act in accordance with their competences. We appeal to the citizens to report such and similar situations on the number of emergencies in a timely manner – 112 – reported CMC on Facebook.

Fallen tree was also reported on Rooseveltova Street, near Setek in the Municipality of Karposh. The tree, as stated, has blocked three traffic lanes and is currently only one lane. The competent service has already been notified and is expected to be removed soon.

CMC has been reported that there is approximately 50 centimeters of water on the Nikola Karev Boulevard at Bit Pazar, and therefore the entire boulevard is blocked and more vehicles are stuck.

It has been reported that on the street « Petar Mandzukov » in Butel neighborhood the streets are flooded, the manholes are clogged and the water is not withdrawing.
The competent authorities, as stated, have been notified and will take appropriate measures within their competence.

It was reported that the street « Macedonian-Kosovo Brigade » was flooded in the municipality of Cair. There are several vehicles stuck there, and the park nearby is also flooded.

In addition, there was also a report for a tilted banner from the street lighting of the « People’s Keroi » street near Mekarov, in the municipality of Kisela Voda.

The Crisis Management Center informs that it is in constant coordination with all competent services for efficient management of the situations.

CMC appeals to citizens to report all life -threatening situations on emergency number 112.
