Lack of tap water and a difficult situation in the city are just one of the problems that the city authorities have to face. It turns out that another has appeared. Criminals who are to enter the apartments under the pretext of checking water quality and rob people are trying to use this gigantic failure.
The matter is so serious that the president of Otwock himself took the floor. In an interview with the reporter « Fakt » he appealed with full firmness.
– We have information about criminal procedures and attempts to use this situation. People claiming to be workers of water supply or city office are trying to enter the apartments, claiming that they have to check water in the taps. That’s not true. I want to say clearly that no waterworks, office or sanitary officer was referred to such activities. I am asking such people absolutely do not let them into their homes and immediately report it to the police – he emphasizes.

President of Otwock Jarosław Margielski said that the city is doing his best to make everything return to normal as soon as possible, but it depends on the results of water quality research that will be known on Tuesday.
– Research is taken from the water treatment plant from points in six -hour cycles, so that the information reached at a high frequency. There is also information on how water quality changes, how the trend line runs. This whole situation may take a few more days, because the research that is currently conducted is to give the answer first whether the water is fit for washing, i.e. for sanitary purposes, and then in the next few days, after a series of disinfection, the water will be taken, tested, whether it is fit for food purposes, whether we can drink this water. We estimate that the action of spending water in the most optimistic scenario will last until Friday – explains Margielski.

The inhabitants of Otwock still cannot use tap water, they only have to use bottled water and the one supplied by firefighters.
Recently, Sanepid took samples for testing and conducts detailed tests. The Mayor of the City Jarosław Margielski announced that returning to normal functioning can take a while, because before the water is approved, its quality must be very thoroughly verified.
