Facial Skin in Spring – How to Solve Five Problems / Day
Looking more closely at your reflection in the mirror, you may have to find that the skin has become dull and unhealthy dry in the winter, with a slightly lobby on the forehead and cheeks, deepened around the eyes, but after the first walk in sunny days, skin redness, pigmentation spots or minor rashes appear. What to do with it?
Pharmacist Elena Beaver explains: “The skin condition is affected by a variety of factors. Usually from autumn to March and in April, the skin often faces temperature fluctuations, cold winds, dry air indoors. It has been observed that those who want to improve the skin condition and therefore come after a skin care product have mainly encountered one of the five skin problems.
Dry skin
Start with sufficient water intake and at least one, 1.5 liters per day. The amount of fluid in the body affects the proper functioning of all organs systems, and the largest organ, as we know, is the skin.
The skin also needs special care products containing amino acids, hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin, panthenol, lipids from natural oils, aloe juice. These substances moisturize in creams and serums, improve skin elasticity and tone. However, lifestyle should also be changed to restore dry and dehydrated skin. It is important to remember that alcohol and smoking have a very negative effect on the condition of the skin – the harmful habits should be abandoned. The diet should include foods rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, especially omega-3, as well as vitamins A, E, D.
It is wrong to believe that oily skin does not need moisture. When the body is dehydrated, it activates sebum production to moisturize the skin. If, for example, the face T area is not moistened with a suitable skin care product, the vicious circle will form: the more skin is drained, for example, with alcohol -containing tonic, the more oily it becomes. For oily facial skin, it is advisable to choose a light moisturizing fluid, gel or gel -like cream. Along with the daily cream, it will be useful to add serum, mask or concentrated restorative serum in ampoules. Face masks containing ceramides and niacinamide can be used – these substances restore the skin’s protective barrier.
It is recommended to clean the dry skin with delicate face milk. Combined and oily skin – with alcohol -free lotion. Regardless of the skin type, you should forget about using soap in your face care.
Dull, gray, twisted skin
If the skin color is unhealthy pale, serum (also moisturizing) with vitamin C can help, which stimulate cells to resist the harmful effects of free radicals – they are found in the environment at every turn. Vitamin C has saturated skin relies quite quickly, but at the same time it makes the skin more vulnerable to ultraviolet radiation. Therefore, vitamin C serums should be taken no later than two, three hours before going out (less – if it rains and the sky is cloudy). However, it is best to use this product in the evening before sleeping.
If a face care product with vitamin C causes skin irritation, it is advisable to choose a product that contains as little as possible.
You can always take more vitamin C with food, and you don’t even have to buy kiwi and lemons. More often, menu should be included, such as sauerkraut, rosehip fruit tea, which is a great source of vitamin C.
Consulting a doctor or pharmacist may use a vitamin C preventive dose, which can be useful in any case (unless individual contraindications).
Skin irritation and peeling
Reduction of skin elasticity, tiredness of air temperature fluctuations and increased sensitivity are also common problems that occur in the spring. As a reaction to external irritants, it may also be a peeling of the skin. The pharmacist warns of a common skin care error: excessive acids for skin rejuvenation. Such a product can only be applied to the skin in the evening, while in the morning it is imperative to use SPF cream, and it is also advisable to remember the additional intake of antioxidants.
If there has been no consultation with a dermatologist or beautician, it is recommended to use only a light scrub with a cream or gel base containing natural (or artificial) solid particles for mechanical removal of the skin horn layer. Such agents do not cause discomfort and are also suitable for sensitive areas of the skin.
The rough skin indicates a deficiency of vitamin B3 or niacin. In food, it can be taken with peanuts (in the absence of allergies), beef, chicken, pork liver, salmon, mackerel, tuna. Sufficient protein in the diet will provide the necessary levels of tryptophan, which turns into niacin in the body.
If the skin is severe, itching also occurs, and it is recommended to use a skin moisturizer with dexpanthenol. Such a product will also help if the skin is red after the sun.
Pigmentation, freckles and spots
Although summer has not yet occurred, ultraviolet rays are getting stronger even through the clouds. Therefore, it is important to use a face cream daily with SPF 30. To avoid possible skin cancer, Latvian dermatologists recommend using even SPF 50. This will protect the skin from redness and burn.
Coenzyme Q10 – a powerful antioxidant can be used in the form of a course that is able to improve skin protection against ultraviolet radiation and free radicals.
If the moles or pigmentation spots appear on the skin in the winter, they should definitely be shown to the dermatologist to rule out the oncological disease.
True, this may also be due to age – over the years, melanocytes spread unevenly in the epidermis, reducing their activity, and the skin becomes more susceptible to sunlight.
Sometimes the appearance of age spots is caused by a lack of folic acid. The best natural folic acid suppliers to the body are leaf salads, spinach, cabbage, liver, fish such as tuna, salmon. If the diet is inadequate, a appropriate dietary supplement may be helped.
The pharmacist emphasizes that it should definitely not try to fade so -called age spots with lemon, parsley or other plant juices – not only ineffective, but often dangerous to skin health. Products are available in pharmacies that can help reduce pigmentation spots. They contain, for example, niacinamide, vitamin E.
It should be noted that skin care products with retinol (vitamin A) can quickly improve the texture of the skin, remove pigmentation and smooth out the skin tone, but should be used carefully. Retinol can cause irritation in the form of redness, dryness, scaling of the skin. It should even be remembered that vitamin A in face care products increases photosensitivity, so it is advisable to use such products only before sleeping – then they will give the best results.
Dark rings around the eyes
To avoid this, the main factor is sufficient and quality sleep. But not just that! Scientific sources confirm that the skin also responds to the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. The saying « We are what we eat » is deep! The intestines absorb the substances in the body. If the balance of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli is disassembled, dysbacteriosis occurs and can affect the condition of the skin, promoting the formation of dark circles around the eyes.
If antibiotics have occurred and antibiotics are used, it is also important to take probiotics, which helps maintain (or restore) the microflora balance in the digestive system. When choosing such medications, it is definitely worth consulting a doctor or pharmacist.
