Fabien Roussel evokes in a program the cancer that defeated his daughter – Liberation

The national secretary of the Communist Party had never elaborated on the cancer of which his daughter Nina was the victim, and whom she defeated. In an extract from the show An intimate ambition scheduled for Sunday, June 1, and of which M6 shared an extract on social networks, Fabien Roussel returned to what the chain describes as « The most upsetting event » of his life.

In this program, summit of the pipolization of political life, he explains to The Star Presenter of the Channel Karine Le Marchand Having been called by the hospital on December 31, 2003, while he was about to celebrate the New Year: « I don’t realize because I say « Well, listen, ok. This is December 31, we are with friends we’re going to party and then I will come the 2 ». And there I remember the doctor tells me « Sir You have not understood, your daughter has cancer. You have to come back immediately to operate it urgently ». « 

A few days earlier, her daughter had a removal « ball » at the throat. The doctors had spotted a tumor in the lymph node. « We were really very united »retraces Fabien Roussel. And add: « It worked! » When I tell you that life is a fight, that’s it too. She fought. We fought together. She won and is radiant ”.

Fabien Roussel’s daughter has entrusted to M6: « The more I grow up, the more I realize how hard it must be for him to go through all these steps. Knowing that it is a dad who raised us partly alone. I think he is a man with a big heart. ”

According to the National Cancer Institute, « About 2,300 children and adolescents » are diagnosed each year in France (0.6 % of cancers in all ages combined) and « The 5 -year survival rate now exceeds 80 % ».
