Speaking at a workshop held on Tuesday, the Mayor, especially in the historical center of Nicosia, argued that most of the buildings are in bad state and there is no other solution for these structures.

Stating that approximately 300 Turkish Cypriots are located in the south of Nicosia, Prondzos said that most of these structures have become unusable or at risk of collapse.

Prountzos also suggested that the city center has shrunk gradually and the fact that large commercial enterprises do not turn to the center was a result of this.
