Program Ceramic Festival in Sigulda – Allow More! Combine five exhibitions, more than 60 authors, dozens of different ceramic works – from fine porcelain dishes to large -scale objects in the urban environment – as well as creative workshops, meetings with artists and competitions for spectators. These are the Ceramic Festival Culmination Weeks in Sigulda, which invites everyone to « afford more » – creatively, bold and more open to look at ceramics as a contemporary language of expression.

Exhibition In Sigulda Devon Goes 45 authors with more than 50 contemporary ceramic works, reflecting a wide range of forms, materials and ideas. It features works created in the workshops of ceramic old masters, leading artists and new generations – students and recently graduated artists.

The exhibition offers the viewer not only to look at the finished work, but also to learn how they are made – from the choice of materials and tools to the workshops of the masters. The diversity of materials and techniques – clay, stone, porcelain, mixed techniques, experiments with supine paintings, metal additions and encountered techniques – are also visible.

The title of the exhibition addresses – Allow to take the risk and tell! – And so is: Diana Mežecka’s work Run in the wind reveals the emotional potential of clay plasticity, Rudite Jēkabsons Autumn flowers impress with compositional accuracy and deep mood, Ilze Emses Why… and league touches When the brick breaks down Calls for experiments, porcelain works – Ilona Romules X-ray, Utah Rows Whim with east flavor – Demonstrates elegance, technical complexity and visual sophistication.

Combined with the visual concept of the exhibition (Ilze King and Zane Homka) and the exhibition of video material (Gatis Vilaks) becomes an experience that speaks with both the eyes and minds of the viewer and the mind.

Allow to take the risk and tell! There is only one of the five exhibitions that take place in various Sigulda cultural sites by August 2:

  • They are us – ceramicists! – Ligo moods, Sigulda Station Square, Co -Rades Laboratories
  • Experiment. Form. Function. – Design approach to ceramics, art space Place No.6,
  • The transformation of space – Large -format objects and sculptures on the bobsleigh and luge track,
  • Dare you too! – Collaboration with Sigulda Art School White piano for students.

Until August 2, everyone is invited to attend all five exhibitions and participate in a spectator photo contest, sharing their favorite work on social networks, @keramikasasasociacija. On August 2, three winners will be drawn to receive ceramic works by artists.

In turn, will take place on July 12 Ceramic Day – A special event where you will have the opportunity to meet artists at all venues, participate in master classes and look at the process of ceramic creation.
