Exercise for shooters – every weekend

Major Artūras Milkintis, the leader of the Western (Sea) Riflemen’s 3rd Team, said that the Rifle Exercise of the Skuodas to Šilutė was held every weekend.

« This weekend, the shooters learned to provide medical care, shoot, respond to chemicals. Major A. Milkintis told members of the Union.

Members of this union are also learning how to help the State Border Guard Service (VSAT) forces. The commander of the team acknowledged that such training may not be very common, but that joint exercises with the SBGS staff are conducted to strengthen these forces if necessary.

Mostly people who join the Riflemen’s Union feel civic responsibility and participate in exercise.

Asked whether the issues of the last few months have adjusted and activated the Riflemen’s activities, Major Milkint said something unusual in our region had not happened.

« Basically there is nothing to react to. Everything has been going as the last three or four years has happened. The army is constantly repeating that there are no indications, just actively carrying out our activities and preparation, » said the team commander. «

It has been observed that in recent years the people of the region have been joining the Riflemen’s Union more actively than before the start of active hostilities in Ukraine. Many want to improve in defense, to understand what challenges one can expect, to gain new skills that every Lithuanian citizen would benefit.

Major A. Milkintis assured that those who did not want to participate in the rifle of riflemen are present, but these are rare cases.

It is true that some shooters cannot participate in planned exercises for working abroad or intensive missions. But when they return, they usually plan their time to improve their skills as a shooter.

On February 16, over 100 young shooters swore in Dreverna, and about half a dozen people became members of the Riflemen’s Union. So far, the disrupted persons have lost their lists.
