Ex-President of Zurich SVP has to go to court
« Not integrable violent offenders »: former President of the SVP Zurich for discrimination on court
The Zurich public prosecutor has raised charges against Patrick Walder for a violation of the anti-racism penalty. It is about a media release from 2019 in connection with a track pushing.
It’s been a long time. At the end of July 2019, the SVP of the canton of Zurich published a media release in which it criticized the « tab asylum policy » towards Eritrean. The party referred to an event in Frankfurt Central Station, which had shocked the public a month earlier. A refugee from Eritrea’s resident in Switzerland came up with a mother and her eight -year -old son in front of an incoming train. The boy died that the mother was able to save herself at the last second.
The SVP Zurich wrote in the media release: « This hideous act again shows once again that such people are non -integrated violent offenders who have lost nothing in Switzerland. » It should not be that we would give asylum asylum with our good people and at the same time put our families, especially women and children, in danger.
These lines may have criminal consequences. On May 14th, the former interim president of the Zurich SVP, Patrick Walder, had to dig up in front of the Uster district court. The public prosecutor’s office has a violation of the anti-racism punishment standard because Eritreaner in Switzerland is presented as fundamentally violent and non-integrable persons and thus reduced in its human dignity. The public prosecutor calls for a conditional fine of 40 daily rates of CHF 210 and CHF 800 buses.
The court appointment made the court on Monday of the Eritreig Media Association of Switzerland, which had submitted criminal complaint together with the Left POC association in autumn 2019. « It is not just about degrading words, but real consequences: discrimination in everyday life, disenfranchisement and violence, » says Semira Abbe, spokeswoman for the EritReische Medienbund. When democratically elected politicians rushed against certain population groups in official statements, the rule of law and democracy would undermine.
Patrick Walder sits in the cantonal parliament for the SVP. He defends the media release, which he was responsible for as a SVP president at the time: “It was about showing the problem of crime from people from the asylum area. We also criticized the asylum policy of the federal government, »he says. The media release does not contain any general generalizations.
Criminal charges also against SVP Switzerland
In October 2023, the Eritreig Medienbund submitted a criminal complaint again, this time against SVP Switzerland because of the election campaign, in which the most voting party on social media and other channels are the asylum and foreigner crime with the slogan « New normality? » denounced. The accusation: The SVP attempts to give selective reports about criminal offenses that people of foreign ethnic groups are criminal and dangerous. In this way they would be reduced.
The Bern public prosecutor’s office conducted two criminal proceedings in this context. The responsible commissions of the parliament, however, dismissed an application to cancel the immunity of the then SVP President Marco Chiesa and the then SVP General Secretary Peter Keller.
And the incident from Frankfurt train station? German courts rated the crime as murder and tried murder. The triple father, who came to Switzerland in 2006, was considered to be unable to guilt because of paranoid schizophrenia and was instructed in a closed psychiatric facility.
