Basic-Fit, the largest fitness chain in our country, does a remarkable action during the European Week of Mental Health: everyone can fitness for free. With that they want to put in the spotlight on the positive impact of sports on mental well -being.

During the European Week of Mental Health-from 19 to 25 May-fitness chain Basic-Fit open the doors of its more than 230 clubs. « Everyone in Belgium can work out for free via a day pass, » it sounds. Who is not a member can on the website Request a free day pass.

« We do this because it is scientifically proven that sports have a positive impact on your mental well-being, » says Kevin Ayeni, marketing manager of Basic-Fit. « You often notice that yourself: after a sports session you may feel physically tired, but mentally equipped. Recently, a study of the UZ Brussels found that obesity in children is often accompanied by mental problems. With our efforts we want to show how valuable sports can be. And you don’t have to be athlete for that. »

Basic-Fit will also go with a van de Boer for free work in the coming daysoutskirtsoffering on location in schools, institutions and companies. In recent months, the ‘Boost Je Mood-Bus’ has already passed in the Sint-Anna residential care center in Veurne, the Pediatric Center Clairs Vallons in Schaerbeek and in primary school De Vaarens in Bruges.
