In Linz, Hynamite wants to defend his status as a home number one. The 23-year-old talks about the role model on the stage, Olympic excitement Raygun and a lack of appreciation for dance in Austria.

Alexander Muus grew up with stage light and music. As the son of an opera singer and a conductor, he already had a part of operas as a child, then switched to musicals and finally inspired himself as a 14-year-old for dancing. In the course he found his best friend and watched fascinated how he practiced his own moves during the breaks – the curiosity for break dance was awakened. The parents, although musically, were able to do little with this hip-hop culture, which was created in the 1970s in the New York of the 1970s, and recognized the commitment and will of the teenager and supported his way. Since then he has risen as a Hynamite to Austria’s number one among the B-boys (as the dancers call themselves).

Hynamite would like to demonstrate this again at the BC One Cypher Austria on Sunday in the Linz tobacco factory (5 p.m., YouTube-Livestream), the home breakdance highlight of the season. The one-on-one-battles are about the third title win in a row. The 23-year-old does not feel nervousness, and yet the tension is great, as he has reinvented himself in the past few months.
