Fortunately, nobody suffered as a result of the incident. Evacuation was necessary, but customers and employees remained calm and complied with the instructions of staff and emergency services.
Alarm in Biedronka. Customers and employees evacuated
Around 10 employees of the Biedronka store in Przystajnia noticed disturbing symptoms indicating the possibility of gas escape. Actions were taken immediately with security procedures – the fire brigade was informed and evacuation began.
A total of 10 people were removed from the building – 6 customers and 4 staff members.
– A gas installation was unsealed in the Biedronka store. The object is powered from an external gas cylinder. 6 clients and 4 employees were evacuated. At this point, the gas is twisted and the building is ventilated – he told « Dziennik West » senior Capt. Łukasz Tasarz, press officer of the District Commander of the State Fire Service in Kłobuck.
Efficient action of emergency services
Two hosts of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Kłobuck and the unit of the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Przystajnia were directed to the scene. Their task was to secure the area, cut off the gas supply and ventilate the building.
The services quickly determined that the cause of the situation was the unsealing of the gas installation.
