Eurovision triumphs Austria, Latvia 13th in the final / day

The audience and the jury have recognized Austrian representative « JJ » with the song « Wasted Love ».

In order for the capital’s residents and guests of the city to jointly follow the participation of the group « Folk Girl » in the Eurovision competition, the Dome Square was provided with a live broadcast of the finals, LETA informed LETA.

On Thursday, Lithuania, Israel, Armenia, Denmark, Austria, Luxembourg, Finland, Malta and Greece entered the second semi -finals in the Eurovision final, while Australia, Montenegro, Ireland, Georgia, Czech Republic and Serbia remained outside the final.

In the first semi -final, 15 countries competed in the finals, of which Estonia, Norway, Albania, Sweden, Iceland, the Netherlands, Poland, San Marino, Portugal and Ukraine. Slovenia, Belgium, Azerbaijan, Croatia and Cyprus did not qualify for the finals.

Without participation in the semi -finals, France, Italy, Britain, Spain and Germany are secured in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, as they provide the most financial contribution to the competition as well as Switzerland as it is last year’s winner.

Winning the Latvian Television Song Contest « Supernova », the ethnopopy band « Folk Girls » with the song « Bur Me Happiness » was the right to represent Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest in February.

The group « Folk Girls » is currently performing asnate Rancāne, Gabriel Zvaigznīte, Aurelija Rancāne, Annemary Moiseja, Laura Līcīte and Kate Slišāne.

Eurovision took place in Malme, Sweden in 2024. The winner was Switzerland’s singer Nemo, or Nemo Metler with the song « The Code », or « Code », so in 2025, the Eurovision House was played by Switzerland.
