Europe’s most sunny cities – Athens position
Those of us who stay in Athens know firsthand what sunny days mean in the city: neighborhood cafes are full of life, people walk hugging the beach, and the most adventurous make their first dive.
On the other hand, we all seek to find ourselves in August in the capital. The heat burns every inch of our skin, the journey to work resembles Dante’s hell, the inhabitants walk nervous with a fan in hand, tourists wear weird hats and flock to the kiosks to get water to the booths, while but somewhere between cement.
The only good thing about being in Athens the sunny and warmer days of the year? That the capital is empty, and the parking lot in Pagrati, Kypseli and Kallithea.
However, Athens is not its only sunny city Europe. In fact, we are many steps (and rays) away from the winner’s pedestal.

Spain: The country of vitamin D
According to a new survey of her Holiday, which put under its microscope all European cities with more than 200,000 inhabitants, the Carthage of Spain, southeast of the Iberian Peninsula, is the priest of vitamin D.
With 283 hours of sunshine on average per month, Carthage ranks first as the most sunny city in Europe. But the good news does not stop there: This is not an ancient city whose only trump is the sun: from the 1st century Roman theater, the old town, the Concepción castle to the fact that tourists have not yet understood it and the inhabitants have not yet hated them, it is an ideal place.
In the general context, Spain, as a country, seems to be the protagonist on the list, as eight cities of Kartageni, Alicante, Malaga, Mourtia, Granada, Seville, Cordova, Madrid – are sympathizing with the top ten.
