European leaders / day will meet in Ukraine on Saturday
The president did not get closer to what would participate in the summit and where it would happen.
French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that a coalition summit in mixed format will take place in Kiev on Saturday.
Macron said a meeting between the « good will coalition » countries’ leaders on Saturday in Kijiva would really take place, but some of the leaders would participate online.
The French President refused to reveal what format he would attend the meeting.
« I’m going to go there at the appropriate time. For a number of quite understandable reasons, it is rarely talked about before, » Macron says quoted by the television channel BFMTV.
The coalition, led by the United Kingdom and France, is about 30 countries.
« We are also preparing for a meeting of ‘goodwill coalitions’ leaders in Ukraine, » Zelensky said on Friday, addressing the military summit in Oslo in a video conference regime.
« We need this coalition, and we are strong enough to guarantee security. Tomorrow – meetings, » he added, without explaining.
Norwegian Prime Minister Juna Stere previously stated that a meeting will take place on Saturday with Norway, Zelensky and « French and British leadership ».
Finnish President Alexander Stub’s office announced that he would take part in the coalition’s « virtual meeting » on Saturday and that he was invited by British Prime Minister Kyr Kirmer and French President Emmanuel Macron.
Neither Britain nor France have publicly commented on this meeting.
