“Europe has never been seriously preparing for war.” Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania – about the future of the Baltic countries

In Europe, recently, more and more often they say that you need to stop hoping for the United States. It’s time to build your own defense without support from the main NATO ally. And if the Baltic countries are constantly increasing the support of Ukraine, they raise the share of investment in defense from GDP, call for anti -Russian sanctions – not all European countries are ready to adhere to such a course.

Answering the last question, Yana Tom emphasized: “I always conquer three alarm clocks in the morning every 5 minutes, because I know that I will not get up for the first two, and the third I usually rise. But this expression is Wake-Up Call-it sounds here for 10 years, since the fourteenth year we have not yet stood out, and still we have not very much awakened: Europe is never a defensive union and never a defense union. Therefore, to reproach us that we cannot protect ourselves, unfairly, it was never our task, this is the task of NATO.
Neil Ushakov noted that Europe lived very well for a very long time and this led to the fact that in a huge number of directions there was simply a stage of relaxation. “This also applies to how the economy is developing, and how we plan everything that is connected with the green course, whether we are ready to sacrifice hundreds of billions for the sake of some, possibly, mythological goals, how issues with migration are resolved. Europe has made a considerable number of errors and that we are discussing, it is simply a logical part of the general process.” Ushakov believes that with the advent of Donald Trump, nothing has changed.
“Just Donald Trump said out loud that his colleague Joe Biden thought to himself. Nothing changed, they just showed a finger: you are not capable of, you have no defense, you have no ability to make weapons. When, suppose, it is purely theoretically discussed that you need 1,400 tanks, which are not in Europe … Europe has money to pay for these tanks, but Europe does not have the opportunity now.
