EU should focus more on economy, nutrition and energy

The results of this year’s European Public Opinion Eurobarometer, conducted by the European Parliament in all Member States of the European Parliament, also showed that Slovenia did not cover Slovenia and that defense and security are not a priority for Slovenian citizens.

Geopolitical shifts in the Euro -Atlantic area leave Slovenia’s citizens relatively cold, since in Slovenia, the weapon hysteria has not prevailed among the population. When asked what areas the EU should focus on strengthening its position in the world, more than a third of Slovenes believe that it is competitiveness, the economy and the industry. Food security and agriculture followed closely after this, followed by the field of energy independence, resources and infrastructure. The area of defense and security is only fourth among Slovenes, and at EU level it is ranked first.

« Competitiveness, economy and industry are highly ranked at EU and Slovenia, which is understandable given the debates on the economic lag of Europe, the more expensive energy, the regulation, the Draghi report and the German elections, as well as in the context of the announced trade war, » commented Dr. Marko Lovec from the Department of International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences UL.
