Polish EU presidency occurs in a complex geopolitical context. EU enlargement to both directions, both in the Western Balkans and in the direction of the East, is a process that does not strengthen mutually and our intentions are entirely in line with those of the EU Council, Polish Ambassador Mariusz Bramora said, exposing the priorities of the Polish EU presidency at the National Council session.

According to Bremora, the Polish presidency is a good opportunity to reflect the future of the Eastern Partnership, initiated in 2009 by then -Foreign Minister Radoslav Sikorski and then Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bild.

– We will take action to upgrade and revive the Eastern partnership so that it can be better adapted to today's geopolitical needs. Our efforts are demanding that the partnership be supplemented by the enlargement process as a strong impact on the project reforms in these countries that aspirate or aspirations to become EU members, thereby emphasizing security and midbind threats, ”said Bremora.

Regarding Macedonia, he noted that they are satisfied with the intensity of bilateral contacts of the leaders of the two countries.

– Minister Murtezani has been in Warsaw twice. We are also working at a bilateral meeting of the two prime ministers in the coming weeks. We continue with the support of Northern Macedonia and other Western Balkan countries on the road to the EU through twinning projects. As Martha Kos said, the expanding process has progressed very slowly over the past years, it is enough to say that in the past 12 years only eight chapters have been closed with all candidates – Bremorrhema said, citing EU Commissioner Kos, who plans to close between 100 and 200 negotiating chapters with the countries.

I know that support for the EU is falling into the country and that according to recent polls it is 62 %, Bremorra said, but look at Poland's example of the entrepreneurial spirit, 70 % of GDP now creates small and medium -sized enterprises.

In terms of transatlantic relations, Bremora said one of the pillars of Polish foreign policy is to have very good transatlantic relations and a good US ally and to build strong Europe at the same time. According to him, there is no contradiction and crucial for the EU is to maintain co -operation and coordinate its actions in the context of improving Europe's security.

Among the priorities of the Polish presidency, he said, is the promotion of EU-US relations over Russian aggression against Ukraine.

– Regarding the decisions that have been made in recent weeks, this is the main task of the EU and the Polish presidency. We want a permanent and continuous dialogue with the United States for China, the Pacific, energy policy and new technologies – he said.

Deputy Minister for European Affairs Viktoria Trajkov pointed out that the European integration process with economic development is one of the top priorities of the Government.

« In this regard, I would like to emphasize that we are committed to speeding up the reform processes, and thus the realization of our European agenda, » she said.

Emphasizing Poland's support within the Polish presidency of the EU Council, Trajkov stressed that « we are getting encouraging tones that their continuous and loud support for our country's accession process will continue ».

The Deputy Minister added that the priorities of the Polish presidency are identified with our priorities aimed at ensuring peace and prosperity.

– We are committed to fulfilling the set in the European Union Roadmap and we are working on its equivalent with the reform agenda. In that direction, I would like to emphasize that the claim to pay 7 % pre-financing for the reform agenda, whose priorities, are covering areas of green transition, human capital, business development and the rule of law, as well as investment in energy, digitization and road, The revised list of 22 projects envisaged in the reform agenda envisages investments of 1.3 billion euros and potential investment grants by the Western Balkans investment framework (WBIF) in the amount of 441m euros – she said.

According to the Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs Antonio Milososki, it is important to re -establish the transatalic dialogue because it is important to all.

– If the question of who you are, are you for America or Europe, it is best to answer that I am for Donald. Without telling the surname, because Donald is both president of America and Donald is Polish Prime Minister, referring to US President Donald Trump and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk – said Milososki.

President of the National Council for European Integration Venko Filipce has criticized the government, saying the reform ageda is buried in place.

-By June 2025 about 20 laws should be passed, and none of them have entered parliamentary procedure. These are the laws most in the judiciary, in the field of energy, digitization and one law in the field of culture. We can expect support and we should expect support and we get that support from countries that are our partners, but at the end of the day, it is mostly for us to work here at home to promote our system – said Filipce.

According to him, voting restrained for both resolutions at the UN General Assembly was a major strategic mistake by the Government.

« I think it is unacceptable and that the foreign minister should answer what it means, what signal we are sending to the world, not only to Europe, and to say what the comment of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban meant last week that some consolation prize for EU membership should be some partnership with Serbia.
