EU Foreign Ministers in Luxembourg will discuss security guarantees to Ukraine and the 17th package of sanctions for the Russian Federation

The European Union Foreign Ministers at the EU Council meeting in Luxembourg on April 14 will discuss security guarantees of Ukraine, in particular, the initiatives of the « decisive » coalition initiatives on the possible deployment of a monitoring mission in Ukraine, as well as the preparation of a 17th package of sanctions against Russia and other means.

The correspondent of « European Truth » told about this on the conditions of anonymity is aware of the process of preparation of the EU Council in Foreign Affairs of the EU Top.

The interlocutor of « Euro Pravda » stressed that the EU Foreign Ministry heads of the EU Council in Luxembourg will discuss possible security guarantees of Ukraine after the hostilities were stopped on April 14, as well as the continuation of sanction pressure on Russia.

« The European Union supports the continuation of pressure on Russia, and therefore the 17th sanction package and other means of pressure will be part of a conversation at a meeting of the EU Council in Foreign Affairs, » the EU Top Official said.

He added that the process of negotiations with Ukraine about joining the EU will also be discussed, in particular, given the blocking of opening negotiation clusters by Hungary.

And also – the EU High Representative in Kai Callas Foreign Affairs to increase Ukraine’s military support: in particular, an initiative to provide 2 million ammunition worth 5 billion euros. « I think on Monday we will see how the obligations are expanding, » the European official added.

« The Coalition of the Willing Coalition initiatives will also be discussed to deploy a monitoring mission in Ukraine after a possible ceasefire that would control the absence of violations and security guarantees for Ukraine-to establish a long and fair peace for Ukraine, » he added.

The Ukrainian question is the first on the agenda of the EU Council in Foreign Affairs in Luxembourg.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga will be addressed to the head of the Foreign Ministry of the EU.

« Minister Sibiga will inform the ministers about the situation in the battlefield, political processes in Ukraine, about urgent priorities for Ukraine now – and that they are asking for the EU now. The same American diplomatic initiatives for peace establishment will also be discussed, » the European Truth interlocutor said.

As reported, the « decisive » coalition led by France and Britain is working on plan Sending a mission to Ukraine to guarantee the future « ceasefire » and has has four main targets.

In turn, the EU’s main diplomat continues to insist that EU countries will be able to provide Ukraine 2 million artillery shells by the end of 2025.

It is worth noting that to a new one, 17th Package of Sanctions forfurther measures may be included against the so -called Russian « shadow fleet », as well as the restriction of transit roads for the Russian Federation through the Baltic Sea.
