Estonian Erms becomes the world vice -champion in the seven -day / day

ERMS finished with 6437 points, improving the Estonian record by 57 points, which failed to reach the European Championship awards two weeks ago. In the last two disciplines – in the card and 1000 meters – the Estonians were unbeaten, but it was not enough to win gold.

Like the European Championships, the world’s gold medal was won by Norwegian Sanders Skutheim, who this time scored 6,475 points. The third with 6,275 points was German Till Stainforth.

The gold medal in the 3000 -meter race was added to the championship title twice as short by Norwegian Jacob IngebrgiCens with the finish in three minutes and 38.79 seconds. British Nail Gurley lost 0.28 seconds, but another tenth of a second was behind American Luke Hauzer.

Women in 1500 meters with a new championship record – three minutes and 54.86 seconds – were won by Ethiopian Gudafa Cegaya, who outscored the closest rivals by almost five seconds. The second was her compatriot Diribe Valka (3: 59.30) and the third was British runner Georgia Hunter -Bela (3: 59.84).

The 60 -meter barrier victory was won by Bahamu’s athlete Devine Charlton in 7.72 seconds, the Swiss Ditaja Cambunds lost a hundredth of a second, but three more was behind three athletes, with Jamaican Nagenta.

In the 800 -meter race, South African runner Prudence Seline, who finished in one minute and 58.40 seconds, won the best score of the season, with Nigista Getacheva in the top three with a personal record (1: 59.63) and Portuguese athlete Patugas Patugas Silva with national record (1: 590). The men won 800 meters by American Josh Hoy (1: 44.77), four -second hundredths behind Belgian Eliot Krestan and 0.26 seconds lost by Spaniard Elvin Kanaless.

In the long jump with a 6.96 -meter leap, an American Claire Brian won, a 6.83 -meter leap was a long leap for Swiss Annika Kelina and 6.72 meters long by Spanish Fatima Diame. For men with 8.30 meters, Italian Matthew Furlan became the champion, with Jamaican Vein Pinoka, a centimeter closer, but two centimeters lost to Australian Laams Adkok.

In high jump, the first two places with 1.97 meters were taken by Australian athlete Nikola Olislagers and Eleanor Paterson, beating the current world record holder Yaroslav Mahuchih from Ukraine by two centimeters. The men’s winner was the New Zealand athlete Tom Welsh, who sent the bullet 21.65 meters, leaving the Americans in the next two places Roger Sten and Adrian Piper with 21.62 and 21.48 meters.

The World Championship ended with 4×400 meters relay, both winning US quartets.

The usual indoor championships take place once every two years, but due to restrictions on Covid-19, the previously planned championships in China were canceled, so the championships will be completed for three consecutive years. Next year the championship will be hosted by Torun in Poland.
