Establish a Dutch Association on the case of sr. Peace
A large meeting was held in Fridrik chapel at Hlíðarenda last night on the issues of Reverend Fridrik Fridriksson, youth leader and founder of KFUM in Iceland. The conclusion of the meeting was that preparation has begun for the establishment of a Hollvin organization, where Fridrik’s case will be the main issue.
Jón Magnússon Supreme Court Attorney says the attendance has been good and believes that about 60-70 people have attended the meeting, despite the fact that he has been little advertised.
« The meeting was held to explain what the well -wishers of Reverend Fridrik have been doing to rebuild his reputation in the past year, » says Jón.
Jón was recently a visitor to the question in which he reported on the request of a group of well -wishers Jón that an objective investigation would be conducted into the case of Reverend Fridrik.
The result of today flawed
Jon says that the meeting also explained the investigation into the matter, how it was carried out and the defects that were on it. « The result is that it is impossible to plan this investigation as it is so flawed and goes against the basics of the rule of law, » says Jón, adding that the investigation into the case has not been neutral.
The defect in the study, according to Jón, lies in the fact that Reverend Fridrik did not have a spokesman in the investigation and that the result was based on a predetermined opinion.
An organization will be formed on the cause
The conclusion of the meeting was that a proposal was approved to start preparing for the establishment of formal organizations that were a kind of Hollvin organization to ensure that the truth is made. The main issue of the association would be to rebuild the reputation of Reverend Fridrik, but Jón says more issues can come up in a similar channel.
Ties hopes to future boards
Jón says it is true that KFUM and KFUK have refused to re -examine the case, as Morgunblaðið has previously reported. Jon, on the other hand, says managers in KFUM and KFUK come and go, just like other company, and therefore the next boards may not also deny that a neutral investigation is being conducted in this matter.
« This will only be investigated in a normal way, otherwise it is not possible, » says Jón.
Unfortunately, he says this is a long run but not a sprint.
The statue of Frederick for consideration
Jón says that Fridrik’s statue was also discussed at the meeting, where the City of Reykjavik has taken it down and stored. Jon says the city has no ownership over the statue. The widow of the artist who made the statue has, on the basis of honor, requested that the statue be delivered. Jon says the group supports that proposal.
Jon says the city has not responded to this widow’s request to have the statue delivered but adds, « we will go into it now to try to make sense to the managers of Reykjavik ».
The shortening of Reverend Fridrik who stood at Lækjargata. The face of the statue was hidden with a black trash bag after Fridrik’s case was in the discussion.
