ESC 2025: semi -finals 1 today

The Eurovision Song Contest is an annual music competition that was launched in 1956 and is now one of the largest and best -known music events worldwide. Over 40 countries from Europe And beyond, their artists send the start to conquer the voices of the audience and the jury with their songs. The ESC is famous for its spectacular stage appearances, which often offer a mixture of music, dance and visual effects. The competition in Basel in Switzerland will take place in 2025 after the country won the ESC in 2024.

Since 2023 there has been no jury in the semi -finals shows of the ESC. The televoting alone decides which acts move into the final – ten from the first and ten from the second semi -finals. The host country and the so -called Big Five are always automatically qualified for the final. So in 2025 these are: Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Spain and Switzerland as Siegerland 2024.

At the Allocation Draw in Basel, it was drawn at the end of January which countries compete in which semi -finals at the Eurovision Song Contest. In addition to the participating semi-final countries, the Big Five countries also give their votes in the first Semi.

When does the 1st ESC semi-final 2025 take place?

The date for the first semi -finals of the ESC is scheduled for today 13 May 2025. The show starts at 9 p.m. This year’s competition is under the motto: « United by Music ».

Semi -finals 1 at the ESC 2025: broadcast today on TV and stream

As before, the transmission of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 takes over as before ARD. The semi -finals do not run in the linear television program of the ARD.
