ERC has already received more than 500 complaints about anti -abortion ad

The Communication Regulatory Entity (ERC) received more than 500 appearances related to anti-abortion advertising, which is being transmitted on several channels, told the official source of the Media regulator on Tuesday to Lusa agency.

The democratic movement of women sent a complaint to ERC, but also to the Commission for Gender Equality, a MDM leader said.

Sandra Benfica said to Lusa’s agency that the movement has been receiving reports since Sunday, from many people, who saw the announcement on the three channels, having decided to file a complaint « against SIC, RTP and TVI. »

For the MDM, the video transmission of the video, entitled “Thank you, mother”, “seriously violates” the legislation, namely the gender equality law or standards of the advertising code and television law.

« The falsehood with which this narrative (presented in the video) is built is, in fact, something absolutely attentive, not only of the rights that were so difficult to conquer, but, in fact, perpetuates a logic of women’s blame, women’s responsibility, moral offense to women, » said the leader.

On Monday, the Association Choose, supporting the Voluntary Pregnancy Interruption (IVG), complained to ERC within the same announcement.

The choice also required the company owner of TVI, Media Capital, « to immediately cease the advertising agreement signed with Miguel Millions (Guru Mike Millions) and to remove any mention of the music video. »
