Flemish minister of surroundings Jo Brouns (CD&V) is allocating 3 million euros to make schools greener and soften their playground. For a long time it was uncertain whether those subsidies would still come.
Until 22 September, schools will be able to submit a file for subsidies to soften and greener their playground. They can receive a maximum of 150,000 euros in a subsidy to make their playground climate -proof, educational and more pleasant for students and staff. « More and more schools see and experience the benefits, » says Jo Brouns. « But that naturally requires financial efforts, and that’s why we provide 3 million euros this year. »
