Entrepreneurs of Ida-Virumaa met in Narva in an informal setting
In the Ranna Resto Narva cafe, entrepreneurs in the Eat and Meet format were held, at which representatives of the Association of Small and Medium Estonia Estonia Evea conducted a training, and the chief economist Bigbank talked about where the economy of Europe and the world is moving.
Representatives of various companies and firms gave information about economic risks for enterprises. There was time to talk and make useful contacts. The meeting took place in Estonian and Russian.
There is no city development without entrepreneurs
As the organizer of the event, the business consultant of the IDA-Virumaa Entrepreneurship Center, Anton Predkunas, told the journalist of the Narva newspaper, the informal meeting “Eat and Communicate” became the fourth event this year. The purpose of such meetings is to reduce entrepreneurs among themselves, to train them, to tell about new trends in business and introduce additional opportunities.
“When a ring road is built in Narva and transport will appear, one of the small factories will be able to make a third work shift.
– Today it is Evea – the Association of small and medium -sized entrepreneurs, which has not been in Narva, as well as members of the Bigbank board for a long time. We try to invite interesting speakers. Businessmen come to us not only from Narva, but also from Narva-Yesuu, Sallamyae, Yykhvi. The program is aimed at small and medium -sized entrepreneurs, and even microfirms. The participants are different-someone has no workers, and someone has more than thirty. Today, guests learned about the possibilities of Evea, and a lecture on the general economic situation in the country and the world will help to navigate the rapidly changing reality, ”Anton Pratkunas said NG.
Among the guests of the event was the mayor of Narva Katri Raik. She noted that the entrepreneurial community is very important for the city, because when there are no entrepreneurs, there are no jobs, there is no development. And such meetings help make contacts between people and give new knowledge.
“From urban self -government, entrepreneurs are waiting for developed infrastructure, good education and medicine. In Narva, the largest challenge is the renovation of houses, now we are starting the renovation of several buildings. As well as a large and important project – the construction of a ring road, so that it is more convenient to get to the other on one side of the city. When the road is built and transport appears, one of the small factories will be able to make a third working shift. This is a good example of how infrastructure affects business, ”said Katri Raik.
Risk and growth of GDP
The chief economist of Bigbank Raul Eamets identified the main factors that today affect the world economy and are reflected in the Estonian economy. Military conflicts in Ukraine, Israel and Syria form the main geopolitical risks. Another large -scale factor in influence on the economy is the US policy and trade tariffs introduced by President Trump. It is also important to use artificial intelligence, as well as cybersecurity.
The expert noted that the economy is constantly faced with risks, but they depend on circumstances and change depending on time. At some point, technological risks prevail, in some-social, and sometimes geopolitical or economic. For example, now in Estonia economic risks come first – high prices for electricity, inflation, tax increases, and large geopolitical risks for enterprises are represented by a military conflict in Ukraine.
All this affects the growth or reduction of GDP in various countries. The first place is stable by China, and in the USA and Japan the indicators are lower. As for European countries, a decrease is also observed in Germany and Italy, and in France, on the contrary, a small growth. In the forecast of Bigbank experts about the GDP of Estonia and its neighbors, in 2025 the highest indicators are expected in Lithuania and Sweden, then Latvia follows, and only then Estonia and Finland.
To the question of what is necessary for the development of Narva entrepreneurship, the expert replied that in addition to local government, the country’s support is also necessary. For example, reducing electricity prices in the region so that this stimulates the work of enterprises.
Exchange experience and establish contacts
“I am studying at business specialists, so many of today’s topics are familiar to me, but it is interesting to listen to the opinion of experts and practice Estonian. I work as an administrator at the RADA-SN language school, we always attend such events to exchange experience and establish contacts. It is interesting to make acquaintances and agree on joint projects, ”Natalya, one of the participants in the meeting of the meeting, told the NG journalist.
