Enjoy those who work

For years CP has been a shame. This should be largely measured by the railway state in Portugal. Train is an adventure, because every day there is no disturbance caused by one of the railway unions. In abnormal days, where the service works, punctuality is ridiculous. There is no quality or pride in the CP or any respect for passengers. Already only uses the train who has no alternative. That is, the poorest workers, who gain lower wages than the railroaders.

The company is chronically bankrupt, and only Pedro Nuno Santos is able to invent that it makes a profit, omitting that it was he who decided to transfer the losses of the CP to the boss state. Instead of accumulating losses, the company began to receive excessive subsidy annually, which more than covers its pornographic losses.

Strikes are permanent, although salaries in CP are much higher than those of the private sector and those of other public sector companies, with many and unexplainable benefits safeguarded by foolish company agreements. Unions are delaying the company, without pity or mercy towards the ‘users’, these bastards who mostly have no resources to resort to another alternative.

In short, neither customers nor their workers like the company and, for the shareholder, that we are all, it is an irremediable ‘perdotion’. Chronic disruption is only possible because those who work trust that employment in the state sector is guaranteed and is for life.

The attitude is blatant: the day after the last strike, the long course recorded 90% of suppression. The President of the Dodess Union (SMAQ), who is also a candidate of the CDU, explained that « these assumptions are still a reflection of the strike » and that the CP will replenish the service « as the workers are presenting ». He exemplified: “A worker should have presented himself yesterday (Friday) for a trip to Faro and did not present himself. Today, I was not in Faro to make the return. It’s really coming with those who work!

It follows that the country is on the verge of making gigantic investments in the railroad, which is no longer justifiable if the company operating the service is not reliable. Reliability is an essential factor in public transport as a credible alternative of mobility. In this assumption, CP is an instrument that will not serve or never serve the country’s transport system.

Montenegro spoke of revisiting the strike law because the situation we arrived is unsustainable. What he said was precisely the same as Pedro Nuno Santos said when he was a minister and had, a decisive and meritorious role in the new railway strategy. Now, as he dreams of rule with the PCP, he had an expected attack from Amnesia.

In fact, the executive of which he was part admitted, regarding nurses and truckers, to resort to the civil request – an instrument created by Vasco Gonçalves during the Prec, when the uncontrolled strikes bothered their provisional governments. As is well known, the strike was prohibited in communist countries.

If it reviews the law of the strike, which would make sense, it is impossible because it afflicts souls that keep the unchanging constitution, it remains to be liquidated the CP, opening the market to private. Like, by the way, of what was done four decades, successfully, in the merchant navy, which was also bankrupt. One cannot continue to tolerate the total and unpunished contempt of CP employees for the public interest and the rights of all Portuguese who pay a service that is not rendered must be failed.
