English is now US official language
As promised, the US president Donald Trump proclaimed English as an official language in the US. Ever since the founding of the Republic, English has been a national language and all historical documents as a declaration of independence and the constitution has been written in it, the Republican champion explained its decision: « The national language is the center of a united and cohesive society. »
The vast majority of residents have always been speaking the language of the first European immigrants, although the congress was discussing federal legislation in German in the late eighteenth century. Trump, however, perhaps the most disturbing the current indulgence to Spanish, which has been considered an unofficial second language in the US in recent decades. Due to the offer of Spanish in schools, health and elsewhere, many immigrants from South America do not need to be assimilated.

Trump also abolished the executive command from the time of the Democratic President Bill Clintonwho required improved access to favors for all people with limited English knowledge. Speaking will be offered a shared home by the new executive order and encourage them to find American dreams. It will not only open their economic doors to the economy, according to the presidential order, but will help them participate in communities and national traditions. « This command recognizes and celebrates the long tradition of multilingual US citizens who have learned English and intervened to their children and future generations. »
Trump's decree is more symbolic, as it provides for any changes in federal programs, and is primarily a triumph of new American nationalism – and a movement that has long been striving for English as the official language of the United States. Thirty states have already adopted similar legislation. It is estimated that in the US, 42 million Spanish -speaking Americans and three million are Chinese -speaking, but at least the first in the last elections is much more than that of the current president. Those with voting rights have immigrated in a lawful manner and with the desire to become Americans, so during the time of previous Democratic President Joe Bidn, they often disturbed tolerance of millions of illegal migrants.

At the weekend, Trump also declared on his social network Truth Social that the « invasion of our country » was completed and the boundaries for illegal migrants are closed. In January, they recorded the smallest number of illegal transfers in decades, stopped just over eight thousand people, and immediately sent you back. During Joe Bidn, there were also three hundred thousand per month, and everyone was entitled to asylum and a date to check in court. This is often avoided by illegal migrants in the United States, and even before the last wave, millions were alleged in the country.
The previous waves of migrants have quickly realized, unlike the present, that without the good knowledge of English there would be no climb to American dreams. Among these were Slovenian, who had their time in Cleveland in Ohio a real small Slovenian world with almost exclusively in shops, law firms and elsewhere, as the leader of the Slovenian proofread at Cleveland University, Luka Zibelnik, told Delo. Because of the Slavic accent, they were also modified by the title « Polack » and ambitious as they were, they quickly learned good English – and moved to the suburbs.

Today, the situation is different because of greater tolerance among Americans for accents, as well as technological progress. During a recent visit to the Washington Hospital, they were also to me, even though I was not a patient, before the traditional greeting in English « How are You Doing? » Offered translation into Slovenian with an app on a laptop. On the one hand, I'm sorry I did not check the quality of the translation.
