Enefit Industry, a subsidiary of the State Commerce State Complex Eesti Energia, announced a tender for the construction of a gas power plant with a capacity of 100 megawatts in the territory of the Narva Baltic power station. The company expects to use this power plant in the market of reserved capacities to maintain the frequency in the energy system, writes Err.
The estimated value of the contract will be 100 million euros; The construction of a gas power plant is planned to be completed in 2028, Eesti Energia said.
The power plant is designed to generate thermal and electricity in the cogeneration mode and the supply of reserve capacities for balancing the energy system. The power of the power plant should be about 100 megawatts, it should work on the technology of gas piston engines with a capacity of 4-13 megavatts. It is assumed that the power plant will operate mainly on natural gas or biomethane and should be able to use hydrogen as fuel.
